Dean of the Graduate School of Metallurgy and Mining Kuzmin S.L. and Professor of the Graduate School of Metallurgy and Mining Lezhnev S.N. from 27.02.23 to 11.03.2023 passed an international scientific training in the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy (Sofia, Bulgaria)
Dean of Graduate School of Metallurgy and Mining Kuzmin S.L. and professor of Graduate School of Metallurgy and Mining Lezhnev S.N. from 27.02.23 to 11.03.2023 had international scientific training at University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy (Sofia, Bulgaria) in hybrid format on “Modern Approaches to Study of Material Fracture”. The first half of the internship was conducted in an online format, during which theoretical aspects of fracture in various materials were studied. In the second half, teachers from the Rudna Industrial Institute conducted practical work on modern research equipment at the laboratories of the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, which allows to evaluate the behavior of various materials under destructive loads.
While in Bulgaria RII teachers took part in the winter session of the XX International Congress “Machines, Technologies and Materials 2023”, where they presented the results of scientific research conducted by scientists of the Graduate School of Metallurgy and Mining. This congress was held by the Technical University of Sofia and the Machine-Builders’ Union, headed by Prof. G. Popov, PhD.
Within the framework of the visit there were meetings with the Dean of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Material Science of the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy Prof. E. Mikhailov, Doctor of Engineering. Mikhailov and the Dean of the Faculty of Mining Engineering of the University of Mining and Geology. St. John of Rylski University Professor, Doctor of Engineering V. Mitkov. During the meeting, they discussed the preparation of degree programs, joint research and participation of Bulgarian university professors in conducting classes for RII students under the “Visiting Professor” program funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Agreements have been reached on all issues for further joint work.
The scientific internship of the dean of GS MHD Kuzmin S.L. took place within the framework of the received grant “The best teacher of the institute – 2022”.
