For most universities, student initiation is a compulsory rite of passage for all first-year students

For most higher education institutions, student initiation is a compulsory rite of passage for all first-year students. In some universities, this event is timed to coincide with the beginning of the academic year and takes place on 1 September on Knowledge Day. At other schools, freshmen are given a little time to get accustomed to their new surroundings, with initiation taking place in late September/early October. At the Rudna Industrial Institute, the initiation took place as part of the celebration of International Students’ Day on 17 November 2022.

The students’ initiation is a solemn event, so they prepared for it well in advance. The organisers took care of the quality of the event and created a festive atmosphere with a student spirit. The freshmen of all the high schools of the institute defended the honour of being the most creative and creative high school. The theme for 2022 was their favourite cartoons.

The students revealed their talents in three stages of the competition: video introduction, business card, creative number.
The prizes were distributed as follows:
first place – the Graduate School of Economics and Construction,
second place – the Higher School of Metallurgy and Mining,
Third place – the Higher School of Energy and Information Systems.
The students were awarded with gift vouchers from the evening’s sponsors: Pizzeria Dodo and Obzhorkin Cafe.
The audience got a lot of emotions and impressions. University is a territory of creativity and creativity, where promising and interesting acquaintances, friends and also new talents emerge. It is not in vain they say that student years – are “golden years”, which everyone will remember for life!
