On the eve of the celebration of the Republic Day, a round table on the theme “Republic Day – a holiday of unity and consolidation” was held at the Rudny Industrial Institute.
The round table was opened by the Chairman of the Board-Rector, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Academician A.B. Naizabekov. In his speech, Abdrakhman Batyrbekovich noted that the Republic Day in the festive calendar is a symbol of recognition by Kazakhstanis of their origins and continuity, respect for historical merits and the will of our people on the way to state independence. Republic Day is associated with the date of October 25, 1990, when the Supreme Council adopted the Declaration on State Sovereignty of Kazakhstan. The exceptional role of the Declaration is that Kazakhstan for the first time declared itself as a unique territorial entity with its own worldview, individual customs, traditions, as well as a vision of its future. The political and legal significance of the Declaration of 1990 is also noted in the Law “Declaration on the State Sovereignty of Kazakhstan “. Abdrakhman Batyrbekovich, noting the historical aspects of the holiday, told how similar holidays are celebrated in other countries of the world.
Further, the speakers from among the faculty and students of the Institute in their reports revealed a wide range of issues reflecting the historical significance of the Republic Day, the strengthening of civic identity with the principle of “Unity of the nation – in its diversity”, the results of the implementation of the concept of “A Hearing State”, etc. The main leitmotif of the speakers’ speeches was the thesis “Republic Day is a celebration of personal involvement in the successes and achievements of the country.”
At the round table meeting, a ceremony of awarding the teachers and staff of the Institute with certificates of honor and letters of appreciation from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
