Brief description of the course: The purpose of the discipline is to teach students the basics of blasting technology on the ground surface, during underground mining
The discipline “Removal of rocks with explosives” is one of the basic disciplines in the specialty “Mining”, the study of which is necessary for future bachelor miners. It includes the study of the initial process of rock extraction technology, their separation from the array and crushing into pieces of certain sizes. Currently, in quarries, the universal and practically the only highly effective way of preparing rocks for excavation is the destruction of rocks by drilling and blasting. To conduct drilling and blasting operations in the rock mass, wells are drilled or chambers are passed in which explosive charges are placed and then detonated.
The objectives of the discipline are: the study of the basic properties of rocks, their classification in relation to drilling and blasting; characteristics of industrial explosives, means and methods of blasting; fundamentals of the theory of explosion and explosives; modern methods of drilling boreholes and blast wells; mechanical methods of rock destruction, methods of initiating explosive charges, modern methods of regulating the quality of blasting, methods for calculating the parameters of drilling and blasting, explosive network, safe parameters of the drilling and blasting network.
