The formation and development of a democratic State governed by the rule of law is impossible without dialogue and active participation of citizens in the life of society. Convincingly proving your point of view and arguing with good manners is an important part of the cultural world. The relevance of the formation of citizenship of the younger generation comes to the fore, being an important component of educational activities for the formation of personality. The future of the republic largely depends on young Kazakhstanis and their choice. Only by actively participating in the life of the country, responding to all events, acting as initiators of useful initiatives, young people can determine their civic position, unite in a common desire to build the future of their country.
One of the important institutions of youth socialization is the student debate movement.
Debate is not only an intellectual role–playing game, it is a real educational technology.
They form critical thinking skills, teach you how to analyze information, work in a team, formulate questions and answer them. Participants in debates are less susceptible to propaganda and populist ideas, because participation in them forms the ability to argue their position.
This skill is also transferred to real life and makes young people demanding about the flow of information they receive. Among other things, success in the debate does not depend on the social status of the family, place of birth. The main thing here is the outlook, character, desire and motivation to defend your position in a reasoned manner. And to do this, you need to read more books, watch educational programs, develop communication skills, argumentation, and constantly work on yourself.
